Your role as Quality Assurance Expert
You will collaborate closely with colleagues in logistics, procurement, and supplier management to ensure that all processes meet the highest food safety and quality standards, while keeping client partnerships running seamlessly. Operating independently from the distribution center (DC), you will play a central role in our triangular quality model—linking suppliers, clients, and internal operations.
As part of a dedicated QA team of 6 Quality Experts and 2 Quality Administrators, you will combine strong technical QA expertise with the ability to engage German clients and confidently navigate German food legislation, retailer standards, and certifications.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage supplier and client quality relations, including audits, complaints, and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with German and EU food safety standards (IFS, QS, GlobalGAP, SKAL/Organic).
- Follow the entire seasonal flow of assigned products (e.g., grapes, citrus, apples, exotics), coordinating quality assurance from harvest to retail.
- Act as a first point of contact for German clients, ensuring clear communication and strong collaboration.
- Work closely with international QA colleagues in the Netherlands and Germany on shared processes and digital quality tools.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and harmonization of QA processes across Fresh Solutions Netherlands and GmbH.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, Agricultural Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ QA experience within fresh produce, food, or FMCG.
- Strong knowledge of food legislation and retailer standards (IFS, QS, GlobalGAP, SKAL/Organic; REWE, Metro).
- Proficiency in MS Office, Agriplace, and preferably with data structures or BI tools.
- Fluency in German (essential), with excellent English; Dutch is a plus.
- Proactive, hands-on, and flexible mindset; able to adapt quickly in a fast-changing digital, product and client environment.
- Team-oriented and internationally minded – not a “9-to-5” mentality, but someone who thrives in an evolving, cross-border business.
