Fresh Solutions Import & Customs department works supportive as an expert department to the Fesh Solutions organization in order to guarantee a smooth process for incoming shipments. You will pro-actively collaborate closely with colleagues in logistics, procurement and supplier management, with Dutch authorities like Customs and KCB and with our logistic service provider(s), transport companies and vessel companies.

Your role as Import & Customs Specialist
As an Import & Customs Specialist, you will play a key role within our Import & Customs team, working closely with colleagues in logistics, procurement, sales and supplier management. You will ensure that the entire process – from supplier shipment to our warehouse in Waddinxveen - runs smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with Dutch regulations. This is a hands-on role in which you will quickly gain in-depth knowledge of import and customs processes. You will be trained on the job and supported by experienced colleagues, with the opportunity to grow into a fully independent team member managing complex shipments.
Your tasks include
- Manage relations with Dutch authorities such as Customs and KCB, including audits.
- Ensure compliance with EU Customs and phytosanitary legislation.
- Manage relations with our 3PL, transport companies and shipping lines.
- Monitor and manage the entire seasonal flow of shipments from supplier to our warehouse in Waddinxveen.
- Prepare and maintain work instructions for the department.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and harmonisation of custom processes across Fresh Solutions.
- Act as point of contact for suppliers, authorities, and logistics partners, ensuring clear and proactive communication for strong collaboration.Support operational tasks such as container clearance, arranging exemptions, and monitoring releases to prevent delays at the gate.

What you bring
- Preferably a Bachelor’s degree, or at minimum a completed vocational education (MBO level) with equivalent working and thinking capacity.
- Proficiency in MS Office®; experience with SAP and BI tools is a plus.
- Proactive, flexible, and hands-on mindset; able to adapt quickly in a fast- changing digital, product and logistical environment.
- Fluency in Dutch, with excellent English; German is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on Saturdays if necessary.
- Experience with customs and logistical procedures, or eagerness to learn.
- Team-orientated and internationally minded – not a “9 to 5 “mentality, but someone who thrives in an evolving, cross-border business.
- Strong analytical skills to improve processes and optimise costs.
- A true team player, while also able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
